Dipping into ultra-low-word-count territory today with this 62-word themeless. This grid pattern comes courtesy of one very talented Brian Thomas, who has been exploring versions of this grid with 64 slots. Early testing suggested 62- and even 60-word Thomas Grids™ would be possible, and it turns out they are! If the academic field of themeless crossword grid design existed, this is what they'd call a successful follow-up experiment. (Of course, I stand on Brian's metaphorically giant shoulders.)

In other themeless news, Brooke Husic and I had yesterday's New York Times puzzle! If you haven't already solved it, please give it a whirl and read our constructor notes afterwards.

Enjoy,

- Sid
